Welcome to the 2017 Field Hockey Program!

  • Wednesday August 30, is the evening of the Mandatory Athletic PARENT meeting at 6 pm in the Lecture Hall...it is immediately followed by our Mandatory Field Hockey Parent meeting.  At least one parent must attend both of these meetings.  Athletes do not need to attend this meeting, as they will have had their mandatory athlete meeting on Monday August 28 (@9am in the Lecture Hall). 
    
    In our meeting, we will have a chance to hear from our coaches about the program, as well as sign up for volunteer opportunities throughout the season.  We will also have samples of some of the sprit wear.  We are setting up an online store for Spiritwear – details TBD.
    
    We are asking for a tax deductible donation of $450 per player this year ($100 goes directly to transportation).  The school district budget only covers the stipend for the Varsity and JV coaches, so all other expenses are paid for with parent donations.  We have not raised the level of the donation in several years.
    
    We rely on the generosity of our families to keep our program going.  Your donation helps cover the costs associated with the team such as transportation, trainer fees, equipment, uniforms (this year we have brand new practice jerseys,  home/away game jerseys, and team pullovers), tournaments, Senior Night, team banquet, patches, awards, assistant coaching stipends, etc. 
    
    One side note about our cool, new racerback jerseys- your daughter will need a black sports bra to wear under our black away game jerseys and white sports bra for under the white home game jerseys.  Varsity will need black spandex for under their skirts (JV has skorts). 
    
    We will keep the hockey parent meeting as short as possible. Donations can be made by cash, check, or credit card.  Please be prepared to sign up for some volunteer opportunities!  
    
    We really need EVERY FAMILY'S SUPPORT to make it a successful season for our girls! And, don’t forget to double check whether your employer will match donations.
    
    PLEASE REFER TO OUR NEW WEBSITE FOR INFO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE: www.torreypinesfieldhockey.com.  The girls will be communicating with coaches via teamsnap and will get the most up-to-date info, but we will try to get it on the website quickly as well. We will be posting a full season practice schedule soon.
